Special Events at Briar PatchNestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains near the Shenandoah Valley, is Briar Patch Bed & Breakfast Inn, a Middleburg, Virginia bed and breakfast, offering charm and hospitality to match its historic location. Briar Patch is a historic farm (circa 1805) on 47 rolling acres with majestic mountain views. Located in Loudoun County, we are in the heart of Virginia horse, antiques, and wine country on Route 50 (John Mosby Highway), 4 miles east of the town of Middleburg. Just 20 minutes from Dulles Airport and about an hour from Washington, DC – when you enter our world, you leave the stress behind.

Stay in one of our bedrooms in the main house or combine two rooms to create your own private suite. For even more privacy, stay in our one bedroom cottage with a fully equipped kitchen. Hold your wedding, family celebration, business meeting, group picnic, or off-site retreat in our indoor facility – The Fox Den at Briar Patch – for up to 200 guests or on our beautiful grounds.

Welcome to our website. We hope you enjoy learning about our bed & breakfast as much as we enjoy running it. We have spent several years bringing this property back to its old glory – renovating the main house, cottage, pool, and grounds.

Most recently, we have turned the old tractor shed barn into a magnificent site that we call The Fox Den at Briar Patch for social functions such as weddings, parties, family reunions, fundraisers, and the like, as well as for business and other organization meetings. Future plans call for turning a former chicken coop into another cottage with suites and some fun landscaping projects. Stay tuned for developments!

Middleburg Women Networking Group
On Wednesday, January 18, 2012, Briar Patch will host the monthly luncheon of the Middleburg Women Networking Group.

We attract women to our events from throughout Northern Virginia.  Our networking luncheon offers the opportunity to network, visit & shop at vendor tables, taste wines from a local winery, eat an elegant served meal provided by a different caterer each month, hear interesting speakers, and win some fabulous door prizes.  We highlight the many accomplishments of women from all walks of life.

Here is the timing for our next luncheon event:

11:30 am - Noon        Networking & shopping at vendor tables

Noon - 12:15 pm        Enjoy an appetizer while listening to our speaker

12:15 pm - 1:30 pm    Lunch & door prizes

We are excited to have an accomplished journalist as our next speaker:

Angie Goff, TV News Anchor and Reporter, NBC4.

Angie Goff anchors the weekend editions of News4 Today and reports during the week. Angie realized the power and impact of social media early and uses that expertise in her reports.

As an Army brat, Goff spent her childhood living both in the U.S. and South Korea, but she calls Northern Virginia home. She graduated from Herndon High School and attended college at George Mason University.

Prior to joining NBC4, Goff spent several years as a multi-media journalist at WUSA in Washington. She also anchored and reported for WIS-TV in Columbia, SC where she won an Emmy. Other stops in her career include KMEG-TV in Sioux City, Iowa, and Entertainment Tonight.

Goff's reporting has taken her from the Iowa Caucuses to hurricane coverage along the East Coast.

Goff’s use of crowd sourcing and viewer-generated content has been a driving force behind her popular blog, OhMyGoff.tv. She is often asked to speak on panels about how social media is changing news. (Please check out her Twitter and Facebook accounts.)

She’s also involved with many community organizations including the Yellow Ribbon Fund and the Susan G. Komen Foundtion. In recent years, Washington Life magazine named Goff one of the most influential Washingtonians under 40.

During her off time, the new mom stays busy but hopes to train for another marathon soon. Goff lives in Northern Virginia.

See the MiddleburgWomen.com website for more details and to register for the luncheon.

The caterer for this luncheon is Kitchen Gourmet Caterers.
